For the past few weeks, individuals around the world have been panic over the newly appeared Coronavirus. This new virus strain has caused severe respiratory illness in dozens of people and has even resulted in a handful of deaths. In response to this outbreak, many governments have implemented travel restrictions and are calling for citizens to take precautions against the spread of the virus. Officials are also urging those who have contracted the virus to seek medical treatment immediately.
While most people view this as a public health emergency, some Islamic scholars believe that there is a hidden wisdom behind Allah’s sending of this virus. These scholars point to a number of Quranic verses that suggest that trials such as this are meant to test our faith and obedience.

What is the Coronavirus and what are its symptoms?

What exactly is coronavirus? The coronavirus is a type of virus that causes mild to severe respiratory diseases. It belongs to the family of coronaviruses as its name suggests. I will explain what it is, how people get it, and how it spreads, as well as share some information on its symptoms. So, how exactly do people get this virus? Well, in most cases it is due to contact with an infected person or animal who is carrying the coronavirus. The coronavirus can be found in saliva and nasal secretions (fluid from the nose). So you could catch the coronavirus if you have direct contact with the saliva or secretions of someone who has it. You can’t catch it from objects such as a door handle, a computer keyboard, teacups, etc. because these objects do not carry the virus which is mainly found in bodily fluids. However, you could catch the coronavirus if you have been in close contact with an animal that is carrying it. In some cases, the coronavirus can be passed from one person to another via a respiratory route which means that you could catch it if someone sneezes on you as the virus may enter your body through your nose or mouth. It is also possible for a patient’s breathing equipment to allow transmission of the coronavirus to another patient if it is not properly cleaned and maintained. What are some of the symptoms of this virus? Well, these can vary depending on how your body reacts to it but in most cases, you could expect respiratory conditions like fever, runny nose, and cough.

Islamic perspective on the remedies for the virus

The Remedies for the Virus by Dr. Aslam Abdullah, online Quran academy Delaware
The epidemic is ravaging the world today with such fury that it deserves our deep contemplation. Online Quran Academy Delaware is an online tajweed Quran study center. We provide all the tools to learn and memorize Tajweed rules in a manner that best suit your learning style and requirements Islamic teachings provide sound insight into this phenomenon. “Allah does not change men’s condition unless they (first) change their inner selves. (Quran 13:11). The outbreaks of the illness have been progressively associated with certain behaviors that involved a callous disregard for human life as well as social and moral values.
We are experiencing an epidemic of self-destructive behaviors. The crisis has reached the point where the world cannot function without taking extraordinary steps to combat this plague. We see similar situations in nature, such as when one species overpopulates and destroys its food source. One can see the behavior of the virus in this regard as it provokes the host to spread the infection until there are few left alive. The teachings of Islam show us how to deal with this plague by turning to Allah, the source of all life and wisdom, who sends down angels who record all our deeds, is aware of our every move and is the protector of our souls

We can learn about the plague by observing its symptoms. The virus frequently results in diminished judgment, where people lose sight of larger goals to indulge in self-destructive behaviors.

The virus also creates a cycle of dependence. People become addicted to their delusions and seek affirmation from others rather than finding the truth within themselves. This makes it easier for them to become dependent on systems that perpetuate destructive behavior.

The difference between Islamic and Western perspective
Islamic philosophy is the holistic view of life. It takes into consideration not only one’s physical needs but also his spiritual well-being, responsibilities towards others and God as a whole human being with no interference from either sex or any clergies attached to it whatsoever! This means that an Islamic perspective looks at things through different lenses than those used by Western cultures; instead there might be more emphasis on personal responsibility for actions taken in this world versus worrying about what will happen after death when all your deeds are said & done

Prevention tips for avoiding the Coronavirus

The coronavirus or HCV-OC43 is a virus that causes upper respiratory tract infection and its symptoms include cough, phlegm, and fever. The severity of the illness depends on the condition of each patient; those with a compromised immune system are at risk for more serious illness.

If you have a weakened immune system or other health problem, you are more susceptible to severe illness if infected. The coronavirus is not as contagious as the common cold virus but it can be passed from person to person by contact with respiratory secretions (phlegm or mucus) of an infected person.

Avoid close contact with people who have respiratory symptoms of a cold. This would include avoiding people who cough or sneeze without covering their nose and mouth. Try to maintain a distance of at least 3 feet from these individuals.
Health care workers have the highest risk of being infected, therefore they should try to avoid close contact with symptomatic patients as much as possible. When caring for symptomatic patients, wear disposable gloves and a gown if possible.
If you are infected with the virus, there are several things that you can do to help avoid passing it on to others:
Do not go near anyone while symptomatic until your fever subsides (at least 24 hours).

Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough and sneeze, and throw the tissue away after use.
Wash your hands frequently with soap and water or an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.

Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth to help avoid infection

Drink plenty of fluids to stay well hydrated as this can help to thin the secretions and make you more comfortable.
The appearance of the Coronavirus has caused a great deal of concern for people all over the world. While scientists and researchers scramble to find a cure, some Muslims have turned to Islamic texts for remedies. There are many different interpretations of what the cures could be, but one thing is certain; we should all be prepared in case this virus spreads. If you would like help preparing for the potential spread of the Coronavirus.
