What is the Cut-off for SNAP? How many marks should one score to take admissions through SNAP?

All Symbiosis International (Deemed) University (SIU) institutes are expected to declare the SNAP 2021 cutoff in the first week of February 2022. Candidates who will successfully clear the SNAP cutoff will further be called for selection rounds of MBA admission, which includes Group Exercise (GE), Written Ability Test (WAT), and Personal Interview (PI).

Going through the previous year’s trend, the SIBM Pune cut-off is expected to be about

98.5 percentile, and for SIBM Bangalore, it is around 90 percentile. The cut-off marks for SNAP depend following factors such as the number of aspirants appearing, Exam difficulty level, applicable reservation, and more.

Components Determining SNAP Cutoff

Few important factors are taken into consideration while determining the SNAP Cut-off. The cut-off is not divided into sections rather; it is based on the overall merit list. The factors that determine the exam cut off includes:

  • Total number of aspirants appearing for the SNAP 2021
  • The total seat available in the colleges.
  • Also, it mostly depends on the number of candidates qualifying for the SNAP exam.
  • Finally, it is based on the difficulty level of the question paper.

Selection Process for SNAP 2021

After the publication of the SNAP cut-off list, candidates have to go through several rounds of selection to get a SNAP admission finally. The selection round includes Group Exercise (GE), Written Ability Test (WAT), and Personal Interview. The selection process will possibly begin in the second week of February 2022 and end in the fourth week. The schedule for the same will be released later.

The SNAP accepting colleges are expected to issue the final SNAP merit list in April 2022. Both the final merit list and the waiting list will be published on the official website of Symbiosis International (Deemed) University.

The final merit list would be a compilation of the score that includes:

  Parameters    Total weightage
SNAP Score (out of 150 marks)  50
Group Exercise    10
Personal Interview    30
Written Ability Test  10
Total  100
  1. Group Exercise

The Group Exercise (GE) round comprises two phases. In the first phase, every group is given a puzzle to solve within the allotted time limit. This task aims to see how well the candidates can manage and strategize things together. In addition, it showcases your ability of leadership and teamwork.

In the second phase, the candidates are segregated into groups, and each group is provided a topic to discuss. And they need to present the topic in front of everyone after discussing it for 5 minutes with their group members.

  1. Personal Interview

Several questions will be asked to candidates in this round related to themselves and their future planning, like why they want to pursue MBA, where do they see themselves in the coming 5 years, etc. In addition, this round is set to assess the aspirant’s communication and problem-solving skills.

  1. Written Ability Test

This round included an essay writing test, in which all the candidates will be given a topic to write their essay on. Sometimes, the candidates are given a video to watch and then write their idea on that clipping. This round mainly deduces the candidates’ analytical ability and interpretive abilities.

  • Each SNAP participating college determines the SNAP cut-off to select students for MBA admission.
  • Candidates scoring more than the SNAP cut-off percentile have high chances for selection in the GE-WAT-PI round.
  • The selected candidates will be asked for the GE-WAT-PI round via email.

The concluding advice:

The candidates who will not get a chance this time should work hard and prepare for the next one.
