EXPLORE DIFFERENT CAR BATTERIES

The battery is an integral component of the vehicle. The vehicle is useless without it. But that doesn’t mean we ignore the rest of the car’s parts. None of them could exist without the others, and each one is crucial. It’s fair to say that all of the parts needed to get a car going have to work together.

But enough of that; this blog post will not be devoting any space to exploring the relationship between the two. Instead, we’ll look at the various car batteries available. Due to the high demand, we’re making an effort to focus on this. Last time, we talked about the most common factors that lead to a dead car battery. We started receiving calls and emails asking which car battery was best and what the differences were between the various options.

OK, let’s get started.

CALCIUM BATTERY

Our list kicks off with the calcium-calcium battery. The plates of this battery get their name because they are made of calcium alloy. These batteries are advantageous because they leak almost no fluid. Another advantage is that this battery type loses its charge more slowly than others. However, one thing you should never do is overcharge. You can damage it by overcharging it. These batteries typically cost around $100.

WET/FLOODED BATTERY

Cheaper batteries are an option if you’re trying to save money. Wet or flooded batteries are one of the most cost-effective battery options. As a result of their widespread application, they are available in a wide range of forms. This means they facilitate the greatest possible convenience for car owners. As an added bonus, they have a number of potential applications in various industries. The battery plates are insulated to prevent accidental discharge. Their price is lower than that of calcium-calcium batteries. They can leak liquid, which is a problem. Therefore, it requires regular upkeep and checks. They are also easily hurt by a jolt of electricity.

DEEP CYCLE BATTERIES

Any RV, golf cart, or electric vehicle owner is likely familiar with the term “deep cycle battery” (EV). That they can hold a lot of stuff is one of their selling points. They have a long useful life, to put it another way. These batteries can also be used to store solar energy. This is a primary reason why they are so costly. The lack of accessibility is a disadvantage of deep cycle batteries. Only from a trustworthy seller should you make your purchase.

VRLA

Another type of battery is the valve-regulated lead-acid battery (VRLA). As the name implies, a safety valve is included in these batteries. With the valve in place, oxygen and hydrogen can be safely released during the charging process. That is to say, you won’t need to worry about any gas leaks or poisonous vapours. Although they were not originally intended for use in vehicles, VLRA batteries can be found in some models.

LITHIUM-ION BATTERY

Lithium-ion batteries could find the most widespread application in hybrid and electric vehicle applications. They weigh next to nothing. One of the most notable advantages of such a battery is its smaller carbon footprint. Almost every part of a lithium-ion battery can be reused or recycled. However, the high cost of recycling is an issue that needs to be addressed. This battery technology is not compatible with vehicles that use conventional gasoline engines.
