Samsung Galaxy S10 & Plus cases tested

1st place & test winner – the Otofly case for the Galaxy S10

The otofly cover landed in first place because it simply combines a lot. It is made of an ingenious silicone material, which feels very high quality in the hand. In addition, we have a hard case here, which absorbs fall damage perfectly. A display protection is also integrated, so the display does not lie on it when it falls or is put down. The camera is also protected by a small bump. Furthermore, we have a real inner protection made of microfibre. So everything that comes between the case and the cell phone is simply held in place and does not scratch the back unnoticed. The design is also completely closed here and the buttons have a perfect pressure point, just like the original.

Advantages

✓ The best materials

✓ Completely closed

✓ Hard case

✓ Screen protection

✓ Interior protection

✓ Camera protected

✓ All buttons with perfect pressure point

✓ Compatible with all bulletproof glasses

✓ Does n’t look too thick

Disadvantages

✗ Lint can stick

Conclusion – Who is this case suitable for?

Otofly has once again brought a perfect case onto the market and the slogan better than the original applies here again. It is $10 cheaper than the original, completely closed, with display protection and the right inner protection!

2nd place – The Spigen Neo Hybrid case for the Galaxy S10

The Spigen Neo Hybrid case for the Samsung Galaxy S10 & Plus came in second. This case combines several good advantages with each other. It has a screen protector, the edge goes a bit beyond the screen. This means that the Galaxy S10 cannot even touch the ground when you put it down or fall. In addition, we have half a hard case here. The back is made of a kind of plexiglass, the sides are made of harder rubber (TPU). This means that the impact is not passed on directly to the S10 in the event of a fall. The camera is also protected on the back by an increase in the case. Another plus point here is of course the price of less than 10. What bothers me about Spigen cases in general is their thickness. The S10 is nice and slim, but unfortunately not really with this case. The camera cutout on the back shouldn’t have been that big either. Dust and dirt like to collect here and this way it gets under the cover. Since this case has no inner protection, you can quickly scratch the back unnoticed.

Advantages

✓ Screen protection

✓ Half hard case

✓ Camera protected

✓ Cheap

✓ Completely closed

✓ Also compatible with large armored glass

✓ All cutouts good

✓ Transparent back

✓ Buttons easy to use

Disadvantages

✗ No internal protection

✗ Camera cutout too large

✗ A little too thick

Conclusion – Who is this case suitable for?

If you are looking for a transparent S10 case and value good protection at a reasonable price, this case is the right choice for you.

3rd place – The original Samsung Galaxy S10 silicone case

This original Samsung Galaxy S10 case landed in third place. Here we have a kind of gel-silicone mixture as the outer material. It just feels extremely ingenious and of high quality in the hand. For me the best material you can use for a case. In addition, we have a complete hard case here. The camera is also well protected with a slight elevation of the S10 case. Furthermore, we have a kind of internal protection here. Samsung used to use microfiber here, like with the Galaxy S9 cases, which holds dirt or grains of sand much better. Now Samsung simply uses a ridged pattern here. This is of course not so good and more of a downgrade. The screen protection has also become significantly less here and we don’t think that you still have real protection here. In addition, the S1o doesn’t really sit firmly in the case. Another disadvantage is the open bottom. There is a risk of scratches or dents in the frame.

Advantages

✓ Awesome material

✓ Hard case

✓ Camera protected

✓ A kind of internal protection

✓ Buttons easy to use

✓ Cutouts good

✓ Compatible with large tempered glass

Disadvantages

✗ Far too loose

✗ No screen protector

✗ No proper internal protection

✗ Silicone attracts dust more

✗ Open bottom

✗ Too expensive

Conclusion – Who is this case suitable for?

Otherwise, these types of cases almost always end up in first place. This will not be the case here, however, because Samsung has removed the screen protection here and also made the interior protection much worse. This can be done better!

4th place – The transparent case with black frames from ESR for the Galaxy S10

This Galaxy S10 case from ESR landed in fourth place. In terms of looks, it’s pretty much the same as the #1 Spigen S10 case. However, there are a few notable differences here. Again, we have half a hard case. The back is made of a kind of Plexiglas and the sides are made of hard rubber (TPU). This case is also quite a bit thinner than Spigen’s, so it doesn’t make the S10 that much thicker. Unfortunately, there is no screen protector here. A tempered glass for the Galaxy S10 so it becomes mandatory. However, especially with rounded displays, you always have problems with armored glass because it doesn’t stick properly. The camera on the back is not protected here either and touches the underside when it is placed on a table, for example. The recess of the camera is also a bit too big here and dirt and dust collects there again, which gets under the case. For $16 we find the whole thing too expensive.

Advantages

✓ Half hard case

✓ Nice and thin

✓ Transparent back

✓ Completely closed

✓ Also compatible with large armored glass

✓ All cutouts good

✓ Buttons all easy to use

Disadvantages

✗ Screen protection too low

✗ No internal protection

✗ Camera not really protected

✗ Camera cutout too large

✗ Expensive

✗ Fingerprints on the back

✗ Again those two holes on the side

Conclusion – Who is this case suitable for?

The case has something, it lies well in the hand, is not too thick and has a transparent back. But you can’t really talk about protection here and for this price we find the whole thing too expensive. Then you should rather look at the transparent one from Spigen.

5th place – The fully transparent Galaxy S10 case for the S10

This Galaxy S10 case from ESR landed in fifth place. It is exactly the same as the one in number 3, the only difference here is that this case is a full transparent one. In other words, the edges are also transparent here. We thought that this case might be something different, eg it has a screen protector. Unfortunately we were wrong about that. Nevertheless, We think the ESR case is better in third place, because the black frame is not as noticeable as the transparent one. Visually, the S10 is even thicker.

Advantages

✓ Half hard case

✓ Nice and thin

✓ Transparent back

✓ Completely closed

✓ Also compatible with large armored glass

✓ All cutouts good

✓ Buttons all easy to use

Disadvantages

✗ Screen protection too low

✗ No internal protection

✗ Camera not really protected

✗ Camera cutout too large

✗ Expensive

✗ Fingerprints on the back

✗ Again those two holes on the side

Conclusion – Who is this case suitable for?

The case has something, it lies well in the hand, is not too thick and has a transparent back. But you can’t really talk about protection here and for this price we find the whole thing too expensive. Then you should rather look at the transparent one from Spigen.

6th place – The original Samsung Galaxy S10 leather case

This original Samsung Galaxy S10 case landed in last place. Normally, original cases are always worth a look, because the quality is usually very good. Unfortunately not really here. We have a hard case and a camera protection here, but that’s about it. The leather here is very smooth and doesn’t feel like leather at all, but rather cheap. Again, the S10’s fit is very loose. There is no real screen protection here either, and the underside is also open here. The case has an inner protection, but it is so smooth that nothing will really get stuck here, such as a grain of sand. This will then slide around there and scratch your back. Clearly too expensive for the asking price.

Advantages

✓ Camera protection

✓ Hard case

✓ Compatible with all bulletproof glasses

✓ All buttons easy to use

Disadvantages

✗ Looks cheap

✗ Fits very loose

✗ Extremely expensive

✗ No screen protector

✗ Open bottom

✗ Interior protection rather poor

Conclusion – Who is this case suitable for?

I’m actually used to better from original cases. But this case falls through completely, because it doesn’t really offer any protection and it doesn’t feel high-quality either. For the price, we wouldn’t recommend this case to anyone.
